Characteristics

Most host families are located within 1 to 20 minutes walking distance from the school. Families may vary in structure — couples, families with children, single parents or individuals — and in some cases, the homestay may consist of a single person household. Regardless of the setup, the immersion into Spanish daily life remains the same.

Unless otherwise agreed, accommodation includes a single room with breakfast. Bed linen is provided, and students may use the washing machine once per week. A private bathroom or ironing service is generally not available, but in some cases may be arranged directly with the host family. This flexibility and personal interaction are what make the homestay experience especially valuable.
