Intensive Spanish course + paella cooking course

As a special highlight, we also offer you the opportunity to improve your Spanish skills in combination with our unique half-day paella cooking course in the garden on the beach in Ibiza Town. How doese the program work?
This program combines one or two weeks of intensive Spanish classes with a half-day paella cooking experience.
Important:
- The Spanish course always starts on a Monday
- The paella cooking course takes place during the same week, usually on Wednesday afternoon

Where?
At the Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza (Ibiza Language Institute), Ibiza Town, Ibiza Island, Balearic Islands, Spain.
Who?
Our program is aimed at adult participants of all ages. The majority of our participants range in age from 25 to 50 years old, but occasionally we have younger participants and almost always some participants who are over 50 years old. The average age of our school is mostly over 30, although in the summer months we also welcome students between the ages of 18 and 30.
What is included?
The program consists of three parts, although accommodation is optional and everyone can book their own accommodation independently of the school.
- Our intensive Spanish course over 20 lessons / week
- Half-day paella cooking course in a private garden
- Choice of accommodation in a school shared flat, with a host family, in a hotel or independent of the school
Intensive Spanish Course
- Lessons per week: 20 or 30 group lessons of 50 minutes each (4 group lessons per day)
- Timetable: Monday to Friday, in the mornings
- Course duration: You can choose between 1 or 2 weeks. If you decide to study Spanish for longer, you can choose the group course with 20 lessons per week. You can book this course for as long as it suits your needs.
- Content: General Spanish at your level
- Teachers: Minimum 2 teachers per week for more fun, different accents and a better learning experience
- Leisure activities: 3 activities per week from our leisure program Vive en Español
- Group size: Average 6, maximum 12 students
- Levels: All levels. Beginners and advanced. After our placement test, all students are assigned to groups according to their level.
The paella cooking course
Would you like to inspire at home with paella like “Montse”? Or are you just curious to find out what’s behind the Spaniards’ favorite dish? Or do you just want to have a good time with classmates your own age?
Our paella cooking class offers you the unique opportunity to learn the traditional way of making paella while spending a great day under the Ibiza sun.
The course starts by discussing, explaining, smelling, feeling and tasting the ingredients. Then it’s time to get to work on the paella pan and prepare a real paella. If there are enough participants, we will prepare two pans.
- Duration of the course: 1/2 day, in the afternoon, approx. 16.00-19.30 (subject to change)
- Language of instruction: Spanish
- Content: Preparation and eating of the paella
- The ingredients: Quantities, sourcing, ripeness, spices.
- The preparation: sequences, temperature, times, tips and tricks
- The meal: serving, sharing and choosing drinks
- Paella type: With fish and seafood and vegetarian
- Previous cooking experience: For complete beginners and advanced cooks. The teachers will involve you according to your level.
- Teachers: Local paella friends and chefs
- Course location: Private garden, in Ibiza town, Figueretas beach area
- Group size: 8 – 20 participants
- Transportation to course location: on foot

The cooking course usually takes place on the first Wednesday of the month. However, your Spanish course starts on the previous Monday as described above.
